There is power in the written word.

I first learned that as a child, and the lesson has followed me, driving me into a career that I love.

As writers, we have the power to shape our world. No where is this more apparent that within the field of journalism, the one in which I have spent most of my career. After earning a bachelor of arts degree in writing, I returned to my home town to work for 10 years at the STAR newspaper. It was a wonderful place to set down roots and dig deep into what made a good journalist and a great newspaper. Since leaving there, I have worked as a stringer for several other small newspapers, including the Isanti County News and the Longfellow/Nokomis Messenger.

I have helped shaped the future of journalism by working with aspiring reporters at the Anoka-Ramsey Community College.

Along the way, I have also dabbled in public relations, beginning with volunteer gigs and moving onto paid positions.

My skills stretch across print, web and video.

  1. Hello Tesha,
Very much liked your article "Meet St. Andrew's Church designer Charles A. Hausler" that popped up on my phone newsfeed. His apprentice work with Harry Wild Jones popped out at me as I am constantly attempting to fill in more about of Harry's life. Thank you for your work on Mr. Hausler. I am hoping to connect with his granddaughter Jennie to learn more about Hausler's early work with Jones.
