About Me

I am a freelance writer and photographer with 21 years experience in the journalism industry -- more if you count the little newspapers I wrote, designed and published on our first Macintosh computer when I was a kid. In college, I worked for the Bethel College Clarion.

I served as the assistant editor for 10 years of my hometown newspaper, the STAR newspaper in Cambridge, Minn. I currently write for the Longfellow/Nokomis Messenger and the St. Paul Monitor, and help with special projects for ECM Publications, a division of Adams Publishing Group. I've written in the past for the Twin Cities Daily Planet and RedCurrent.com.

I have taught journalism classes at Anoka-Ramsey Community College, and Planet Homeschool in Minneapolis. I have been thrilled to receive awards for both my articles and photographs from the Minnesota Newspaper Association.

I am a journalist because I love journalism, and believe it is essential to a free society. You will almost always find my dining room table littered with newspapers.
